I just wanted to share with you a quick little DIY I’ve done in effort to spruce up my main bathroom! I usually use the ensuite bathroom in my room, and Kyle tends to gravitate towards the main bathroom in the hall. Because of that, I wanted to give it a subtle masculine feel, while decorating it nicely for when we have guests. I have a few ways to achieve this, and I want to show you the first thing I’ve done. I won’t be revealing photos of the bathroom until I have completed the entire decor! So stay tuned for more quick and easy DIYs that I will be doing for the bathroom.
I wanted to do something nice with the beautifully scented Bath & Body Works candle I have had in the bathroom for a while now. The scent is Mahogany Teakwood and its the perfect masculine scent in my opinion. The notes are as follows: Rich Mahogany, Black Teakwood, Dark Oak, Frosted Lavender. So its great for a woodsy themed room! In keeping with that theme, here is what I decided to do to decorate the plain glass candle holder.
The things you will need are:
- candle of your choice with a glass holder
- hot glue gun
- E6000 glue (optional)
- candle stick holder (found at dollar tree; also optional)
- pliers or some sort of cutting tool to trim twigs)
Its as easy as this! I collected some twigs and broken branches from outside, and trimmed them to size to properly fit the candle holder. Once they were trimmed, I began gluing them onto the glass holder. I used a hot glue gun because it dries quickly, so I didn’t have to worry about twigs slipping and sliding on wet glue as I tried to work my way around the holder.
You just continue gluing the twigs in place until you’ve completely covered the candle holder. An option you can do is to glue (with E6000 glue) a candle stick holder onto the bottom of the glass holder to give it a more fancy appearance and to have it stand a lot taller. I was considering doing that but have since changed my mind. I wanted to show you that you can add any element you want to your DIY project. Another option is to tie a piece of twine around the candle and tie it in a bow for a finishing touch. Ultimately you can do whatever you please to make it your own!
I loved how this turned out and I can’t wait to see how it ties into the theme of the bathroom. I have some other DIYs in mind with the woodsy, masculine theme so stay tuned for those. If you have any ideas for projects I can make, leave them in the comment section below.
